marijuana kills cancer

Well the world seems to be finally awakening to the healing powers of the amazing herb… To be honest, I was amazed to read that the modern medicine finally recognising the vast potential of Hemp…like the above pic says, Natural Cures Not Medicine: Don’t Smoke Cannabis to try To Cure Cancer but Make Oil From It. Health Benefits of Hemp is enormous, This does NOT mean it should be smoked 21 times a day!  it can bee very very addictive too and somewhat dangerous… Like in the article given below… the same was mailed to me from one of my reader Nicole, it’s  from her website…. werein she points out some of the might-be harmful effects of Marijuana when you Smoke it or rather take in excess… !!! Anyway Thanks Nicole….. I don’t know about the validity of the claims…but I do know it serves many medicinal purposes that are highly beneficial. It is ridiculous that we cannot use it for such. Anyway Cannabis oil… Does a body good.. But Cannabis Smoke beware of Over use!! What Say U ?

The Effects of Marijuana on the Body

Marijuana comes from the Cannabis plant. The flowers, seeds, leaves, and stems of the plant must be shredded and dried before they can be used. Most people who use marijuana smoke it, but it can be mixed into food, brewed into tea, or even used in a vaporizer. One of the ingredients in marijuana is a mind-altering chemical called delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

When you inhale marijuana smoke into your lungs, it is quickly released into your bloodstream on its way to your brain and other organs. It takes a little longer to be absorbed when you eat or drink it.

The effects of marijuana on the body are immediate. Longer-term effects may depend on how you take it, how much you take, and how often you use it. Since its use has long been illegal in the United States, large-scale studies have been difficult to manage.

In recent years, the medicinal properties of marijuana are gaining acceptance in mainstream America. Medical marijuana is now legal in 23 states and the District of Columbia. THC and another ingredient called cannabidol (CBD) are the main substances of therapeutic interest. National Institutes of Health-funded research into the possible medicinal uses of THC and CBD is ongoing.

In addition to medicinal use, recent legislation has made marijuana a legal recreational drug in Colorado and Washington State. With the potential for increased recreational use, knowing the effects that marijuana can have on your body is as important as ever.

With so many pot smokers wanting the legal right to use cannabis as a recreational drug, we’ve lost sight of why it became legal medicinally in the first place. While in most cases, cancer patients have used the drug as a painkiller or for its calming effect, countries like Israel have even introduced marijuana rooms in some hospitals. Finally, the U.S. is in lockstep with some of the most recent research on how marijuana can fight cancer.

According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), tests on mice and rats confirm that cannabis kills cancer cells. The National Cancer Institute is an integral part of the U.S Department of Health, so essentially, the government is now telling the public that cannabis has cancer-killing properties.

On their website, NCI says:

“Laboratory and animal studies have shown that cannabinoids (the active ingredient in cannabis) may be able to kill cancer cells while protecting normal cells. They may inhibit tumour growth by causing cell death, blocking cell growth, and blocking the development of blood vessels needed by tumours to grow.”

  • Studies in mice and rats have shown that cannabinoids may inhibit tumor growth by causing cell death, blocking cell growth, and blocking the development of blood vessels needed by tumors to grow. Laboratory and animal studies have shown that cannabinoids may be able to kill cancer cells while protecting normal cells.
  • A study in mice showed that cannabinoids may protect against inflammation of the colon and may have potential in reducing the risk of colon cancer, and possibly in its treatment.
  • A laboratory study of delta-9-THC in hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) cells showed that it damaged or killed the cancer cells. The same study of delta-9-THC in mouse models of liver cancer showed that it had antitumor effects. Delta-9-THC has been shown to cause these effects by acting on molecules that may also be found in non-small cell lung cancer cells and breast cancer cells.
  • A laboratory study of cannabidiol (CBD) in estrogen receptor positive and estrogen receptor negative breast cancer cells showed that it caused cancer cell death while having little effect on normal breast cells. Studies in mouse models of metastatic breast cancer showed that cannabinoids may lessen the growth, number, and spread of tumors.
  • A laboratory study of cannabidiol (CBD) in human glioma cells showed that when given along with chemotherapy, CBD may make chemotherapy more effective and increase cancer cell death without harming normal cells. Studies in mouse models of cancer showed that CBD together with delta-9-THC may make chemotherapy such as temozolomide more effective.

Not only is the NCI saying that marijuana can help with chemotherapy, tests on rodents have also found that cannabinoids may reduce the risk of colon, liver and breast cancer.

Despite what seems like a monumental breakthrough, the U.S Department of Health warns that in humans, there is no definitive evidence showing that inhaling or ingesting cannabis can cure cancer or even help with cancer-related symptoms and side effects. They also warn of fraudsters trying to sell cannabis-based cancer-cures.

If you think all this sounds contradictory, you’re not alone.

The main psychoactive constitute of the cannabis plant can completely kill cancer cells.

Dr. Sanchez, a molecular biologist from Compultense University in Madrid, Spain, has been studying the anti-tumor effects of THC, the main psychoactive component of cannabis, for over a decade. She presented sound information that explains how exactly THC kills cancer cells without producing adverse effects on healthy cells.

Dr. Sanchez says THC does the dirty work of eliminating cancer cells by activating the body’s own cannabinoid receptors, creating endocannabinoids. What’s more, cannabis can do this without any psychoactive effects.

Dr. Sanchez’s research is a valuable addition to the study done by the British scientist and oncologist at the University of London’s St. George’s Medical School called Wai Liu. His research also reveals how THC has ‘potent anti-cancer activity’, and can significantly ‘target and switch off’ the pathways which allow cancers to grow.

There are quite a lot of cancers that should respond quite nicely to these cannabis agents,” Liu said. “If you talk about a drug company that spent billions of pounds trying to develop these new drugs that target these pathways, cannabis does exactly the same thing – or certain elements of cannabis compounds do exactly the same thing – so you have something that is naturally produced which impacts the same pathways that these fantastic drugs that cost billions also work on.”

What does the term cannabinoids stand for?

Cannabinoids refer to any group of related compounds that include cannabinol and the active constituents of cannabis. They activate cannabinoid receptors in the body. The body itself produces compounds called endocannabinoids and they play an important role in various processes within the body that help to create a healthier environment.

Cannabinoids have been proven to reduce cancer cells’ growth as they have a great share in restoring the immune system back to normal. Although not every strain of cannabis has the same effect, more and more patients are having success in cancer reduction in a short period of time.

Contrary to the prevalent belief and practice, smoking cannabis DOES NOT assist a great deal in treating diseases such as cancers since therapeutic levels cannot be reached through smoking! Creating oil from the plant (or eating the plant) is the best way to go get the necessary ingredients-the cannabinoids.
